Established in 1976 in Encinitas, California , Ortho Organizers began as a supplier of orthodontic storage units. The company was named Ortho Organizers because its products were designed to help organize orthodontic supplies, predominantly sold by A Company, for general dentists and orthodontists. Throughout the years, Ortho Organizers expanded its offerings through strategic acquisitions and product development. In 1981, the company acquired Calor Company, a manufacturer of orthodontic elastics, enabling them to produce a wider range of products such as cheek retractors, ligature elastics, and tongue shields. In 1983, Ortho Organizers acquired Micro Metal Products, specializing in casting orthodontic brackets and buccal tubes. This led to the development of their first patented bracket system, the Edgeway Bracket, establishing them as a full-line manufacturer. In 2001, Ortho Organizers acquired San Marcos Medical Plastics, a plastic injection molding company, allowing them to manufacture elastomeric and plastic products in-house. This integration enabled Ortho Organizers to offer competitive pricing, improved quality, and better delivery times. In 2008, Ortho Organizers became part of Henry Schein, Inc., the largest distributor of dental products in North America. This partnership created the Dental Specialty Division, providing Ortho Organizers with the opportunity to expand its business organically and through acquisitions. Ortho Organizers continued to grow its services by establishing a full-service laboratory at its headquarters, deepening its relationship with customers. The integration of MASEL in 2009, another orthodontic company owned by Henry Schein, provided Ortho Organizers with access to products at different price points and expanded international distribution channels. The acquisition of ClassOne Orthodontics in the same year further strengthened Ortho Organizers' global presence with over 175 international distributors in 76 countries. In 2014, Ortho Organizers launched Henry Schein Orthodontics as an umbrella brand, incorporating its orthodontic portfolio, including Ortho Organizers, MASEL, ClassOne, and Ortho Technology. This move enhanced sales and marketing efforts within the domestic market, showcasing the company's comprehensive range of orthodontic solutions.
