Dental impression trays are perforated or non-perforated stainless-steel and plastic carrier trays that hold alginate, VPS, polyether and impression compound against the arch for crown, bridge, denture, study model and orthodontic impressions. Dentalkart stocks 60+ dentulous, edentulous, quadrant, adjustable and disposable trays from GDC, Waldent and Cotisen. Trusted by 50,000+ dentists across 110000+ Indian pincodes.
Dental impression trays are perforated or non-perforated stainless-steel and plastic carrier trays that hold alginate, VPS, polyether and impression compound against the arch during impression-taking for crowns, bridges, dentures, study models and orthodontic appliances. Dentalkart stocks 60+ impression tray SKUs covering dentulous, edentulous, quadrant, anterior-posterior, adjustable and disposable formats from GDC (dominant range), Waldent and Cotisen — sizes 1–4 upper and lower, plus small/medium/large adjustable variants.
Stainless-steel trays with perforations that mechanically retain alginate and other water-based impression materials by allowing material to lock through the holes during withdrawal — for example, GDC Dentulous Perforated Impression Tray Kit Set of 8.
Solid-walled stainless-steel trays for VPS and polyether impressions, used with the manufacturer-matched tray adhesive that bonds the elastomer chemically to the tray wall — required for accurate withdrawal without distortion.
Anatomically shallower trays with extended flanges that capture the entire denture-bearing area, residual ridge, vestibule and palatal seal — supplied in perforated (for alginate primary impressions) and non-perforated (for ZOE and VPS secondary impressions) formats. For example, GDC Edentulous Perforated Impression Trays Kit Set of 8.
Half-arch trays (left and right, sizes 1–4) for single-quadrant crown and bridge work, plus anterior-posterior segment trays for limited operative impressions and bleaching tray fabrication.
Variable-width adjustable dentulous trays that fit small, medium and large arches from a single SKU — ideal for chairs that handle a wide patient mix without stocking the full 1–4 size set, for example, GDC Adjustable Dentulous Perforated Tray.
Single-use plastic impression trays for high-throughput practices and cross-infection-sensitive workflows, plus flexible bite registration trays for occlusal record-taking — for example, Cotisen Transform Disposable Impression Trays.
Dentalkart's impression tray range includes GDC, Waldent (edentulous non-perforated trays) and Cotisen (Transform disposable plastic trays and flexible bite registration trays) — plus generic Indian dentulous tray sets and frame cut-back trays.
Every impression tray is sourced direct from the manufacturer or authorised Indian distributor, ships in original sealed packaging with brand warranty on stainless steel grade, and reaches 110000+ pincodes across India with COD on most SKUs. Pair impression trays with matched impression materials — alginate, VPS, polyether, condensation silicone and tray adhesives — from one trusted catalogue serving 50,000+ dentists and dental colleges.

The difference between a perforated and a non-perforated impression tray is how the impression material is retained. Perforated trays have holes that lock alginate and water-based materials mechanically, while non-perforated solid-wall trays rely on a manufacturer-matched chemical tray adhesive to bond VPS, polyether and rubber-base elastomers during withdrawal.
Use a dentulous tray when the arch has natural teeth and an edentulous tray when the arch is fully toothless. Dentulous trays have shorter flanges shaped around the dental arch; edentulous trays have deeper, wider flanges that capture the residual ridge, vestibule, retromolar pad and posterior palatal seal needed for accurate denture impressions.
The size impression tray to start with for an adult patient is size 2 or 3. Most adult arches fit size 2 or 3 dentulous trays; try size 1 for narrow or female arches and size 4 for wider male arches. Always check for 2–3 mm of clearance between the teeth and tray walls on all sides before loading material.
You should use a quadrant or anterior-posterior tray for single-tooth and limited-arch crown and bridge cases. Quadrant trays cover one side from second molar to canine and save VPS or polyether on single-unit crowns and three-unit bridges; anterior-posterior segment trays suit anterior aesthetic work and bleaching-tray fabrication.
Disposable plastic impression trays are accurate enough for alginate study models, bleaching trays and ortho records, but stainless steel remains the standard for crown and bridge impressions because of its rigid walls. Plastic trays flex slightly during VPS or polyether withdrawal and can distort the impression in posterior cases.
